Founded in 1975, the Belle Plaine Ambulance Service has been managed by Ridgeview Medical Center since January 2008.
Services & Staff
Through this partnership with Ridgeview, the Belle Plaine Ambulance Service has access to resources from Ridgeview, which provides the medical direction, supplies, management of the service and a paramedic position which is staffed 24 hours a day. The other Ambulance responders are EMTs from the community.
Additionally, a second ambulance is staffed by community EMTs when available. Each EMT has completed a minimum of 120 hours of classroom training, demonstrated Basic Life Support Skills and passed a nationally certified exam.
Service Area
The ambulance service covers approximately 140 square miles, including nine townships in four counties - Scott, Carver, Sibley and LeSueur.
