The Belle Plaine Library is part of the Scott County Library System.

Locally, the Belle Plaine Library stocks large print books, audio books on tape or CD, music and a wide variety of books, magazines, videos, DVD, E-Books and newspapers.
Materials available are supplemented with materials from libraries throughout Minnesota and neighboring states. Toy lending is also available, which includes:

- Puzzles
- Creative drama play
- Science
- Musical toys
- Computer games

Readmobile
The Scott County Readmobile stops in Belle Plaine at Fountain Park (801 Forest Street West). Children ages 0 - 10 and their families can climb aboard anytime during a Readmobile visit and stay for as long as they wish.
Activities and materials encourage children to read, write, talk, sing, and play to help prepare them for school, reading and beyond. Children already in school have opportunities to continue developing positive literacy and learning experiences.
